I swear, if I keep picking up products that aren’t currently on the market anymore  or the company has changed, these posts are going to become research paper instead of ramblings. I got this Flav Water because I was thirsty at the time and everyone knows that plain water is boring.

Flavor-enhanced waters are pretty hit-or-miss with me – either there’s too much, too little or it tastes artificial. I generally prefer carbonated water so this already had one strike against it. I didn’t really like the apple flavor but it was tolerable because it wasn’t too strong. I would have preferred the drink if the water had been carbonated, making it more of a substitute soda.

One interesting note that I realized while I was drinking it is the label has a Bible verse reference on it, not unlike In-N-Out Burger does with their food wrappers. Unfortunately, I was dumb and threw away the bottle before copying it down. All I can remember is it was from the Book of John, though if I were producing an apple flavored drink, I probably would have chosen Song of Solomon 2:3. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to find a bottle again but they have all mysteriously disappeared.

For the life of me, I cannot find a picture of this product online (besides our own pictures). Apparently a sweetened, fizzy drink called “FlavH20” exists in a funky plastic can; I’ll just assume this is a limited edition item.

UPDATE: I recently found a bottle of this stuff hiding on the shelves at the Grocery Outlet in the Seattle-Madrona location and I snapped a quick cameraphone pic of that Bible verse reference that was bugging me. Turns out it’s John 14:6 (Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.) Guess this flavored water is gonna save you in more ways that just satisfying your thirst.
