In today’s image-conscious society, it is now not enough just to be thin. One must think thin as well. thinkThin Protein Bar founder & CEO Lizanne (a one-name wonder like Cher or Madonna) describes the inspiration behind the bars on the packaging and the website as well: “I created the Think Thin bar for women like me. Hershey’s Chocolate Bubble Yum

I feel like this product came together based on all of the other successful sugary combinations of the past. Chocolate and peanut butter? Reese’s. Marshmallows and granulated sugar? Those adorable little Peeps. Cookies and pizza? A COOKIZZA. Some quick Googling uncovers that this product first came out in 2006, but I couldn’t find a current product page on Hershey’s website, so I’m going to assume it’s been discontinued.

At first thought, combining chocolate and chewing gum seems like a brilliant idea. The long-lasting gum base plus the cocoa flavor (with none of the extra calories/guilt that come with eating a regular chocolate bar), how can you lose? Read the rest of this entry »

Organic Nutritional Mommy Bar

“Dear natural food-eating, yoga-posing, moms/moms-to-be of America, if you didn’t notice that we’re called “Mommy Bars”, hopefully the words”organic” and “nutritional” will catch your eye.” Since when did a food have to be labeled as nutritional? Isn’t that kind of a given? (no offense to any moms that do yoga). Also this product is made by a company named “Earth’s Best” and it doesn’t get any better than that so it better be good.

It does feel kind of awkward eating this product since am I not an actual mommy and do not intend to become one any time soon. When I tasted this bar, I noted how sweet his bar didn’t taste, compared to all the other granola/health bars out there. Ironically, the first ingredient is organic brown rice syrup, followed by organic oils, organic sugar syrups and henceforth. Read the rest of this entry »
